Windows XP sp2, taskbar apearence

Suddenly the taskbar of my pc has shown some small icon of any application running instead of the usul icon + a short program description.
It seems impossible to restore the default appearence even using system restore or other tricks (reboot, changing taskbar properties).
That problem even if stupid as my pc is working normally makes me crazy, so very grateful to suggestion working my problem out.

You should be able to find the cure for your problem here. Use the "Find on this Page..." facility to find Taskbar.
