Hey Guys,

i need your help. On my computer i installed vista. My Mublinder says on Validation this:
Detecting DLL: Passed!
DLL Version: Failed!
Version detected is 1.9.00091 Click the Enable button to force a replacement.

If i click the Enable button i see : "cannot acces DLL, is is being use by another process. Make sure all Microsoft site browser windows are CLOSED an try again"

I also tried the hint of snodger to delete the legitcheckcontrol.dll but then mublinder says that there is no access on this dll

Thank you for your help in advance!

First of all there are two points to note. MuBlinder was designed to work with XP, not Vista. I have very little experience in using Vista. All the computers I work on still use XP. My only experience with Vista is the 4 or 5 hours I spent testing it when I got my new laptop. I decided I didn't like it and replaced it with XP.

I thought that if you passed Activation with Vista then you also passed the WGA check, so I am puzzled as to why you need muBlinder. That said, I suspect that the reason you are having access problems to the system32 folder is that you do not have administrative privileges. Vista has User Account Control, and that is probably the culprit here. You would need to turn this off to gain access to the files in your system32 folder. This article explains several methods for turning off UAC, temporarily or permanently.

Thank you for your help snodger!

Hmm, i think my explaination was not so good. I´ve not installed Vista for a time. It was installed from the beginning and I installed the Genuine after this.

On my Computer i logged me in as Administrator, so i thin that could not be the fault.

Have you any further possibilties?

Now I'm confused. What operating system do you have? Do you have Windows XP or Windows Vista?

If Vista was installed on your computer from new, I do not understand why you are trying to use muBlinder. You should have genuine Vista.

If, for some reason, your copy of Vista is not genuine, then my comments in the final paragraph of post #121 apply. Even if you are logged in as an administrator, you can still have problems with UAC. To quote from the article I link to, "The UAC forces users that are part of the local administrators group to run like they were regular users with no administrative privileges."

Hello, I'm new here and it seems I have a problem already. I cannot find these data/blinder folder. I mean I saved the mublinder.exe to a certain folder. Now I only wanted WMP 11, so I downloaded the blinder and saved that in the same folder as I putted mublinder.exe. For some reason it won't show the blinder to run it.. So now I'm kinda stuck I hope someone can help me here. Thanks so much!

p.s

I also downloaded the wmp 11 from the Microsoft download center through muBlinder, I saved that also in this folder.
So now in this folder is the muBlinder.exe (only the icon with this face) and the blinder and the wmp 11 d/l from the Microsoft Centre. So all is there except the data/blinders folder..

Hi xJudithx,

The first thing you should do is place the file wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe that you downloaded from Download Center into a separate folder. Give the new folder a name, say WMP11. Once the file is in its own folder you need to unpack it. The file is a self-extracting executable file that contains a lot of small files. If you run the executable it unpacks itself and then starts one of the files it contains. You must not allow this to happen. You, or more precisely the blinder, must patch one of the files, LegitLibM.dll, - the file that deals with WGA Validation queries - before you try to install the program. The only way to do this is to unpack the executable manually. You need a program such as WinZip, WinRar or 7-Zip or an equivalent application for dealing with zip files. You treat the self-extracting executable wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe just like you would a zip file. Right-click on it and select Extract Here or something similar.

You now need to look in the muBlinder folder. This should contain muBlinder.exe. The first time you run muBlinder, once you have accepted the EULA, a sub-folder data should have been created in the muBlinder folder. Inside the data sub-folder should be 3 other sub-folders, one of them having the name blinders. You must place the blinder you downloaded from our server into the blinders sub-folder.

Now check that muBlinder can see the blinder by running muBlinder and looking under the Blinders tab. The blinder should appear in the top pane of the screen as shown in the second post of this topic. If you get this far without a problem, follow the blinder instructions #3, 4 and 5 in order to install WMP11. Take care to go slowly, following the instructions carefully. The illustrations in the Guide should help. If you need further assistance, post again.

If you still do not have a sub-folder data in the muBlinder folder, even though you can run muBlinder, then follow these steps.

  • Copy %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data.
  • Paste it into the Run box.
  • When the list of contents of your \Local Settings\Application Data folder appears, delete the folder KRX.
  • Go to the muBlinder folder and run muBlinder.exe for a fresh start.

Good luck!

Hi

Times ago I downloaded muBlinder vers. 3.60 and I have used it very times to install windows updates. It has always worked very well.
Days ago willing to install WMP11 and not knowing that this application is protected by WGA Validation, I downloaded and installed it directly from Microsoft center. Of course, when I tried to run it, I got a validation request and so, I uninstalled it and used muBlinder:
According with muBlinder user guide I did the following steps:
- run of muBlinder .exe. As always the validation was OK
- download of Windows Media Player 11 Final in data/blinder sub-folder
- creation of a restore point
- run of Windows Media Player 11 Final
- download of wmp11-windowsxp-x86-it-it.exe accessing download center from muBlinder validation tab
- unpacking of it
- clicking of start button to process LegitLibM.dll
- having got "BLINDING is complete" , run of setup_wm.exe
- the installation of WMP11 went on succesfully
- when I ran WMP11 I got a validation page and, when I clicked the validation button, I got the writings (translating from italian) "the windows copy you are using is not genuine" and" to see why it was not possibe to check if the copy is genuine click the END button". Clicking this button, I was switched to www.microsoft.com where a validation check was performed and the response was " thank you to use microsoft genuine software ...." !!!!!!!!! The same happens anytime I try to run WMP11.

What can I do? Can you help me? Perhaps does that happen because I used the italian version of WMP11?

Thanks in advance

Ciao altamb,

This is first problem of this type I have heard about. Very strange! You seem to have done everything correctly. Your problem has nothing to do with using the Italian version. I have installed the Italian WMP11 on the Italian version of XP with no problems. It could be that your earlier attempt to install the program without using a blinder is causing this problem. I suggest you uninstall WMP11 and try again.

Hi snodger,

EUREKA!!!!!
I have got the solution of my problem simply copying "LegitLibM.dll" created by muBlinder from the folder "wmp11-windowsxp-x86-it-it" to WMP11 installation folder (C:/programmi/Windows Media Player), replacing the file that was in there and that was identical with "LegitLibM_MUBbackup_21-10-2009_13.26.06.dll".
I really can't understand how setup_wm.exe has not picked up "LegitLibM.dll" created by muBlinder instead of original file that, moreover, was hidden under the name "LegitLibM_MUBbackup_21-10-2009_13.26.06.dll". Strange, very very strange!! May be Mr. Gates ghost......Perhaps you are right : the problem could have been caused by my earlier attempt to install WMP11 without a blinder, I can't imagine how.
Anyway WMP11 seems to work well and that was what I wanted.

Thanks a lot for your fast replay. You are very kind.

Ciao altamb,

The only explanation I can think of is that the original file LegitLibM.dll remained in the folder C:/programmi/Windows Media Player after your attempt to install WMP11 without using my blinder. Then setup_wm.exe must have spotted it there and so did not move the patched file to replace it.

On second thoughts, your Bill Gates' ghost theory is more plausible. :)

Congratulations on finding the solution.

I have deleted your identical post in the other topic. Please do not make duplicate posts.

Have you actually read the first post in this topic? It contains a link to our guide for installing SP2.

Hello:
My name is Danfong Hsieh. I'm from Taiwan, Republic of China. Personally, I appreciate the muBlinder v3.61 software very much. However, your software is still not widely used in Taiwan. In order to make it more popular in Taiwan, I hope to modify the user interface of your software into Chinese Traditional version. May I ask for your authority to modify this software? And if it's OK, could you give me the corresponding language and resource files to do it as well?

Best Regards!

Danfong Hsieh

I'm pleased you find muBlinder useful. I am passing on your request to WarXchild, the creator of this fine software.
