sorry about not posting the message (so you wouldn't have to search for it). i'm able to go to the MS Update site w/o issue. i'm going to follow the instructions above & get back w/the results. thanks again for the help!
the message is still coming up after following your instructions. i'm including a screencap:

I'm somewhat confused. Your original problem, in 2010, was that this message appeared when you clicked on the <Go To MS Update> button in the Validation screen. Clicking on that button opens up the muBlinder browser, and I assumed that the browser opened, but instead of taking you to the Update site, it displayed the "Navigation to the webpage was canceled" message. But what I see from your screenshot is that you are on the About screen, which is displayed when you start muBlinder. Before we take this any further, can you confirm which of these scenarios is the correct one.
Either [a] The message is displayed when you start muBlinder.
Or [b] The message is not displayed when you start muBlinder, but when you go to the Validation screen and click on the <Go To MS Update> button, muBlinder changes to the About screen and displays the message.
I must say that I can see no logical way in which the answer can be [b], but if this a repeat of the problem you had in 2010, then this must be what is happening. I suspect that your problem this time is different and is not caused by muBlinder, but by your firewall not allowing muBlinder to contact our server, which it needs to do to display the correct Message of the Day. In that case the answer would be [a]. If so, you must ensure that your firewall allows muBlinder to connect to the Internet. Note that muBlinder should operate correctly even if it is blocked by your firewall from displaying the Message of the Day.
