Follow this procedure (you will have to adapt these instructions so that they apply to the Chinese version of XP):

Open the System Properties Dialogue box via Control Panel (or hold down the Windows key and press the Break key).
Click on the Automatic Updates tab and select Notify me, but don't automatically download or install them.
Close the dialogue box.
If/when you are alerted to the need to download updates, inspect the list and uncheck any 'updates' you do not want. I am thinking particularly of the Notifications 'update' KB905474 here.
When the updates you agree to have been installed, you can, if that is your wish, return to the System Properties Dialogue box and turn off Automatic updates.

Hi,

It has been quite some time since I had a chance to be with my laptop that has XP SP3 on it, and I have now latest muBlinder v3.61 working and all. But as I say since I haven't been able to update it since October 2009 I have like a ton of updates to dl. And first one that I needed to dl was Microsoft Office File Validation Add-in, which got me worried. So just to ask are there some updates I should be careful about? I used express update - maybe that was the main problem.

thanks again for the tip. it worked, but now it's doing it again.

i just deleted the old file(s) & downloaded it again. i'm still getting the same message. i believe the last time i used mublinder w/no issues was last month some time.

any ideas why i'm getting this?

sorry about not posting the message (so you wouldn't have to search for it). i'm able to go to the MS Update site w/o issue. i'm going to follow the instructions above & get back w/the results. thanks again for the help!

the answer would be [a]. it was actually the same in 2010. even with the firewall shut down, the same thing happens when i start muBlinder.

it appears that the firewall was not shutting down when i closed it. i went to the Windows Security Center to see if the Windows Firewall was enabled for some odd reason and found that it was not, but the regular firewall i use was still enabled. it looks like i'm all good now. thanks for the help!

Hi,
I currently have Windows media player 9 and I am trying to download the 11 version .When I access the Download center through mublinder and
click download for Windows media player 11 I am getting the error "An error has occurred in the script of this page" (pic attached.) Please help
me how can i download the latest version of media player using mublinder.
Also when i access the update page in click express or custom I am getting error "There is some problem with site".

Yes, muBlinder works as well as ever on Windows XP.

I'm getting this error when I try to run muBlinder.exe after extracting it. It says:

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc00000135). Click on OK to terminate the application.
